good read
My dad owns an African grey, so this was just a silly gift. But he loved it and got some chuckles out of it.
The best parts are from the parrot's point of view. Fun read that ends too soon.
Not only did I love the book, my birds love listening to me read it to them and there is a great recipe for bird cookies with pomegranates in it.
I bought this book for a friend who recently lost her beloved African Grey, Jasper. She and her husband enjoyed reading about Pickles. Of course my friend said that Jasper was a much more clever bird! She still enjoyed the book very much and even looked up on a map where Pickles lives.
Found myself laughing so much at Pickles antics. Especially got a kick out of his coming down from cage & walking backwards & sideways so no one can sneak up on him. My Severe Macaw does this too & I thought it was just something strange JOJO did. I call it his moon walk. So many things Pickles does that my own flock does & I thought my guys were just weird. Parrots are just like little kids. They try your patience, make you laugh and give you so much love. Keep writing, I enjoyed the books.
